Where are you primarily based out of?

Florida


What role do you typically play on set?

Was a Script Supervisor, Now a Writer/Director


How long have you been working in the film industry? Where did you get your start?

50+ years. I would be on sets with my mom when I was all of 5 years old and got to make commercials as talent and it grew from there.


What are some of the biggest challenges you've encountered and how have you overcome them?

Understanding all the many personalities - Studying and learning from my experiences on set.


Who is your biggest inspiration? What have they taught you?

My mother Isela Bennett. One of the very first Latin American in the IATSE - She taught me to be a script supervisor and I built an outstanding career off her shoulders. She taught me the job and the politics of the motion picture industry.


What does it mean to you to be an inspiration/mentor to someone else?

It means the world to me - Life is about passing knowledge, wisdom, and inspiration to others.


Where do you draw your inspiration from?

My life and the life all around me. I listen, I absorb and I study all of life.


If you had one message to share with the world, what would it be?

Believe. Have belief in yourself, for all things are possible.


What’s are some of the biggest things you’ve accomplished in your career so far?

I wrote, directed, produced and was the cinematographer of my feature film and 2 shorts.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years from now? (No dream is too big!)

Writing and directing and creating stories. Inspirational stories. Features and TV series.


If you had one piece of advice for a woman who wants to get started in the film industry what it would be?

Take a PA job and see and study all the various jobs in the industry. See what touches your soul - Once you decide what peeks your interest request to be the personal PA of that very department and learn. On the job training is priceless.


What does being a part of The Women in Film Project mean to you?

I have helped many woman enter into our industry and being a part of a larger circle creates the ability to help even more individuals.
